Synopsis

Tessa Gray travels from New York to Victorian London in 1878 to join her brother, only to be kidnapped by the Dark Sisters, two women who reveal that Tessa can Change — take on the body and mind of another person. Rescued by the Shadowhunters, demon-hunting Nephilim tied to the London Institute, Tessa is drawn into the world of Will Herondale and Jem Carstairs as the group investigates the Pandemonium Club, a secret society building an army of clockwork automatons to seize control of the British Empire. Tessa must learn to use her unexplained power while deciding who she can trust in a city where nothing is what it seems.
