All Hallows' Eve
Synopsis
All Hallows' Eve is the final of Charles Williams's seven novels of the supernatural, a haunting and atmospheric tale set in a liminal, post-apocalyptic London. After a fatal crash, two women, Lester and her friend Evelyn, find themselves trapped in a version of the city where the dead walk and the boundaries between worlds have thinned.
They are pursued by Simon Leclerc, a sinister figure who presides over a cult and seeks to control the world through supernatural means. As the two women navigate the eerie streets, they are drawn into a battle between good and evil that will determine the fate of their souls.
The novel blends a haunting atmosphere with a hopeful, mystical resolution, and it is a compelling meditation on the power of love and friendship against a growing darkness. A must-read for fans of paranormal fiction and magical realism.
