Synopsis

Adjustment Day imagines an America pushed to the brink by disaffected young men, cynical politicians courting a coming war, and academics offering only bleak futures. Into this landscape comes a mysterious blue-black book of aphorisms attributed to a talk-radio provocateur, whose followers treat its slogans as a survival manual — and, eventually, as instructions for a coordinated purge of the ruling class.

Chuck Palahniuk pushes contemporary conspiracy theory, online radicalization, and separatist fantasy to their most literal, satirical extreme, tracing what happens when internet-forum ideology gets carried out as policy.
