Synopsis

A History of What Comes Next is an alternate-history novel by Sylvain Neuvel set between 1945 and 1961. It follows the Kibsu — a secret society of women who have manipulated history for three thousand years to ensure humanity reaches space — as they manipulate two rocket scientists, Wernher von Braun and Sergei Korolev, into an escalating race that will ultimately propel both nations toward orbit. Blending espionage with social science fiction, it is the first book in Neuvel's Take Them to the Stars trilogy.
