A Bargain of Blood and Gold

Johnathan Newman is sent to Cress Haven by a clandestine league of vampire hunters to investigate a string of murders, with all signs pointing to a vampire hiding among the townsfolk. His search for allies leads him to Vic, the town's most eligible and enigmatic bachelor — and to an unlikely partnership that gets closer to the truth than either man expects.

As Johnathan and Vic work the case together, Vic's carefully guarded secrets begin to surface.
