Acsquidentally in Love
Sloane is a private investigator who gave up a career in law enforcement to hunt the person who murdered his parents. Like them, he follows long-forgotten gods, practicing their magic and offering prayers, though no god has ever answered him.
Then one does. Azaethoth the Lesser, patron of thieves and tricksters, has come to earth to avenge the killing of one of his favorite followers. He also has his eye on the detective that Fate has put in his path, and he is certain Sloane is the man he wants beside him for his immortal life.
Sloane is not immune. Azaethoth turns out to be sweeter than expected, and the tentacles Sloane sometimes glimpses slipping out of the god's human form fire his imagination. Their attraction grows while the case turns stranger and more dangerous at every step.
This is a paranormal mystery with a male/male romance at its center, part of the Sucker For Love Mystery line. The tone is playful, with a pun for a title and a god who flirts openly, but the threat to the two men is real. To survive, they will need some faith and a good deal of magical firepower.
