The 100 Greatest Books Ever Written (Easton Press)
A subscription reprint line from Easton Press rather than a story sequence: leather-bound collector's editions of out-of-copyright classics, sold by mail to subscribers from the 1970s onward. Its titles are unrelated works by different authors spanning many centuries and several forms — novels, plays, poetry collections and short fiction. Despite the name the line runs to 125 volumes, a further 25 having been added after the original hundred, and published listings of it are arranged alphabetically by title or by author rather than in any sequence. The volumes therefore carry no reading order and can be read in any order.
