Poison City
Poison City (Yūgai Toshi, "Harmful City") is a two-volume near-future thriller by Tetsuya Tsutsui, serialized in 2014–2015. In a Tokyo gripped by self-appointed morality campaigns ahead of the Olympic Games, manga author Mikio Hibino fights to keep his ultra-realistic horror series Dark Walker from being branded "harmful" and erased. Semi-autobiographical — drawn from Tsutsui's own battle after his manga Manhole was officially designated a harmful book in Nagasaki Prefecture — it won the ACBD's Prix Asie in 2015 and an Excellence Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival in 2017.
