Mortal Engines Quartet
The Mortal Engines Quartet is a steampunk saga set in a post-apocalyptic world where cities move and consume each other. This series explores survival, conflict, and the search for peace amidst a desolate landscape, blending adventure with a unique vision of the future.
A film adaptation of the first book, "Mortal Engines," was released in 2018. It was directed by Christian Rivers and produced by Peter Jackson.
The main series should be read in publication order: Mortal Engines, Predator's Gold, Infernal Devices, and A Darkling Plain. There are also prequel novels and short stories set in the same universe that can be read separately.
Beyond the main quartet, Philip Reeve has written prequel novels, collectively known as the "Fever Crumb" series, which explore earlier events and characters in the same world.
