I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK.
I was not sure it was for me since I usually don't like "second chance" romances, I'm more of a "if it's dead, move on and don't look back" kinda girl. I like reading over the top love stories and fantasy that locks me out of reality but this story was very real and filled with lots of emotions I was not ready for.
The first half of this book had me laughing like a maniac since the moment hell was unleashed by Naomi and both decided to have an open battle of pranks, sarcasm and efforts to mess with each other. You can get a bit annoyed with the characters' childish behavior and miscommunication but I think their reactions were understandable, they were two very desperate people trying to change something in a miserable relationship, and as you keep reading you start to see how much this couple cares for each other and learns how to be together again.
The both of them have problems and aren't perfect but I think in the end it's what makes this story so very real, and maybe that's why I liked this second chance romance so much, there wasn't just one villain or someone to blame individually, they acknowledge their flaws, show their true selves and worked to save the relationship. The last 30% of the book was so sweet and it made me very emotional and happy.
"I inadvertently let him in to see the ugly parts but instead of running away like I’d counted on him to do, he wrapped his arms around all of that ugliness and didn’t let go."
