Synopsis

Gemma Stanton never expected her debut historical romance's hot-headed Highlander hero to be recognized as Mason Moretti, her high school hockey-god crush who once rejected her in humiliating, very public fashion. When a morning show ambushes them both with an on-air reunion and their meet-cute goes viral, aging pro player Mason — with a reputation for being ruthless on the ice and roguish off it — proposes they lean into the moment with a few fake dates to help her book sales and his sagging image. In exchange for Gemma teaching him to think before he acts, Mason offers her a quiet place to write, and neither expects the fictional flirting to start feeling entirely real.

Kelley Armstrong delivers a fake-dating rom-com about a writer and a hockey player rewriting each other's public narratives — and maybe their real ones too.
