World of Beasts

World of Beasts, the first book in Tinalynge's Condemning the Heavens series, is set on the continent of Chang'an, where humans once lived as livestock and slaves to the Primordial Beasts—ferocious, overwhelmingly powerful creatures. As humanity grew strong enough to resist, the beasts fought back with hordes of their own, and every child on the continent was trained in martial arts to face them, many dying in the attempt.

The story follows a young boy who dreams of becoming an outstanding cultivator but lacks the talent to cultivate at all. Despair over his limitations gives way to a traumatic, life-changing event that scars him permanently—and drives him to transcend his weakness and grow into a legend.

Tinalynge, an author drawing on eastern fantasy traditions such as wuxia, xianxia and xuanhuan, builds a cultivation-fantasy world of beast hordes and martial trials around one underdog's rise.
