Synopsis

Twenty-two-year-old Fiera, raised in a Brooklyn orphanage, works as a Manhattan nanny and has an unsettling ability to sense people's secrets before they're spoken. On vacation in Asbury Park in 1932, she and a friend wander into a boardwalk tarot parlor run by Peter Dune.

During the reading, her power and his form an unexpected connection, setting off a chain of revelations: Fiera learns she descends from a powerful sea-witch clan, and that someone wants to make sure her abilities never fully awaken.

Peter, meanwhile, is not the card reader he appears to be — his real work complicates his growing feelings for Fiera as much as it changes his life.
