S. Jae-Jones, who goes by JJ, is an American writer and artist. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she worked as an editor at St. Martin's Press before writing full time. She is the New York Times bestselling author of the Wintersong duology — Wintersong and Shadowsong — and of the Guardians of Dawn series, which began with Zhara (2023) and continued with Ami (2024) and Yuli (2025). She lives in North Carolina.
