Wicked Lies is the second book in Lisa Jackson and Nancy Bush's Wicked series, published in 2011 and set once more around Siren Song, the walled compound on the Oregon coast where Catherine Rutledge keeps a family of women with inherited gifts.
Justice Turnbull, the killer obsessed with the Colony women, is loose again and moving toward the compound. Outside its walls, Harrison Frost is chasing the story and Lorelei Stanhope is trying to hold together a life that keeps intersecting with Siren Song's, and the two of them end up on the same trail from different motives.
As with the rest of the series, the pleasures are the coastal setting, the layered small-town history, and a supernatural thread kept deliberately low and cold. Read Wicked Game first; the mythology is cumulative.
Nancy Bush writes suspense novels, often featuring crime and mystery. Her published works include "Greed - Tödliche Gier" and "Sinister." Readers enjoy her direct approach to storytelling.
