Synopsis

Ten years ago a shooting in Cedar Ridge left Wren with lasting physical injuries and cost her the boy she loved. Holt left town not long after. He comes back now older and quieter, carrying scars of his own, saying he wants to make things right between them.

Wren has built a careful life since then, one she never meant to risk again. Holt keeps turning up anyway, and the distance she put between them starts to slip. Their reunion draws attention in a town where everyone remembers what happened the first time, and not everyone is glad to see him stay.

Then violence returns to Cedar Ridge, aimed at Wren again, and the person behind it is still out there. Holt, who could not protect her a decade ago, means not to fail her twice.

Whispers of You opens Catherine Cowles's Lost & Found series. It is a small-town second-chance romance built around real physical danger, gun violence and stalking among its threats, rather than a light read dressed up as one.
