Synopsis

Where the World Ends is a 2017 historical fiction novel by Geraldine McCaughrean set in 1727 on the remote St Kilda archipelago off northern Scotland. When their boat fails to return after a traditional bird-harvesting expedition, nine teenage boys are left marooned on a sea stack with no hope of rescue. The story follows them as they face starvation and death while forging bonds that define what it means to survive and find meaning in the darkest circumstances.
