I could see what the author was trying to do and I wanted to love this book...but I just can’t. There is so much that is unrealistic and unbelievable and at times just glosses over or too good to be true, and I couldn’t love the book. I loved parts - including the ending - but not enough to override my feeling of disbelief at so many parts.

All the hype over the book and the movie that came out I expected a better book. I was really disappointed. I won’t be watching the movie.

A story about an outcast, forgotten little girl who tried to live in a place where she was judged and faced with the uncalled for hatred of her peers. It's an overview of human nature that leads people to punish anyone who dares to be different and lives on the edge of what society deems acceptable. Kya had my heart all along this beautiful story!
