Grumpy, publicity-shy former footballer Alfie Harding gets talked into writing his memoir, and is paired with warm, irrepressibly curious ghostwriter Mabel Willicker to get his story onto the page. Alfie keeps setting conditions on what Mabel can and can't use, and their working sessions slip further into real conversation than either intends.
