The poems were too short. I’d turn a page expecting the rest of the poem only to find another one. It felt unfinished. Undone.

Most of all they didn’t resonate with me. I couldn’t relate to 90% of it. And it didn’t help that the style was oversimplified, very raw and plain. I don’t remember there being any subtlety or metaphors or anything poetry-like. There wasn’t much creativity or figurative language. I feel like anybody could’ve written this.
