FMC was a witness to a crime and forced to leave her life to enter witness protection. MMC was her best friend and someone he thought she could trust with her life, but doubts that was ever true when she leaves him behind without so much as a goodbye.

I wish the crimes and FMC backstory was more in depth and not just quickly debriefed. This series just swiftly moves on from the traumatic events and would be so much juicier if that was detailed more.
