✦ TLDR ✦
This was incredible! The imagery of this book had me unsettled in the best way possible! It was so vivid it was like lying there watching a movie. The characters were complex, the world had so much depth and there was actually a scene in here that genuinely freaked me out (which has never happened). I will be recommending this book to anyone and everyone because it is such a great YA horror!

✦ Writing ✦
The writing was honestly my favourite part of this book. Usually the plot or a character is the seller but this had me in a chokehold. The creatures were described in such grotesque detail and the environment had me almost wishing I could see it for myself, it felt sort of like Pandora from Avatar with the unique flora.

✦ Pacing ✦
The first chapter or so was slow, it very much eased you into the world. But once it picked up, it picked up. It was non-stop, fast-paced thriller/action content. Just when you think that it would slow down into a lull, bang, things were going down again. 

✦ Characters ✦
I loved the main character. She was smart, funny, but riddled with self-doubt despite being a badass. And the other characters were also super intriguing. I almost hoped this would keep going because I just wanted more! And I must say, that ending was insane.
