<spoiler>This story and its characters make zero sense. And honestly, I have way too many books and fanfics on my TBR to waste more time on this. 
Ever since the end of book one, the author’s been throwing random plot twists and "big reveals" that come out of nowhere and don’t make any sense. Caly suddenly finds out she’s a type of fae, and her first reaction is to touch the scars on her ears—scars she supposedly always touches without realizing. Scars that had never once been mentioned before. Like, really? 
Then her best friend, who she basically sees as a brother, randomly becomes a love interest. And Mendax, who’s supposed to be all possessive and protective, just… doesn’t react? Okay then. 
Now Caly suddenly hates everyone in the Seelie court, and apparently that’s been her plan all along—even though Mendax also hated them, told her he loved her, and they could’ve worked together. But instead she just… kills him? None of it adds up. Honestly, it feels like the author had no idea what she was writing. 
And that’s not even mentioning the 10,000 other things I don’t even want to think about right now. 
It’s a solid DNF for me. This was just bad. </spoiler>
