Synopsis

A young woman with the terrifying ability to see the dead must make a desperate bargain to save her brother's life. She strikes a deal with a mysterious and dangerous merchant who deals in dark secrets, but the price is steep: she must find a specific ghost. As she searches, she finds herself drawn to the merchant, even as the haunted estate they are in begins to feel alive and menacing.

Heba Al-Wasity is a physician and novelist based near Manchester, England. Born to an Iraqi refugee family in Libya, she grew up in Canada before moving to the United Kingdom at eighteen to study medicine, and now works as a general practitioner. Her debut novel, Weavingshaw (2026), the first in a planned trilogy, draws on her own background to explore family history, identity, and the legacy of displacement.
