Synopsis

It's 1958, and Nick Russo has clawed his way out of a hard Brooklyn childhood to become a tenacious reporter at the New York Chronicle. Andy Fleming—the sweet, scattered, privileged son of the paper's owner—is the last person Nick expects to like when Andy reluctantly turns up in the newsroom. But the two become fast friends, then roommates, and their easy domesticity slowly deepens into something neither man has words for.

Cat Sebastian's We Could Be So Good is a tender, slow-burn queer romance set in the newsrooms and walk-ups of mid-century Manhattan. It is a story of grumpy-meets-sunshine, of soup made and flowers gifted and a stray cat adopted—and of two men trying to imagine a future together in a decade that offers them no easy place to have one.
