Synopsis

Wayward is the second novel in Blake Crouch's bestselling Wayward Pines trilogy, the science-fiction thriller series that inspired the FOX television event executive produced by M. Night Shyamalan. Picking up after the revelations of Pines, it follows Ethan Burke, now the town's sheriff, as a murder investigation drags him deeper into the disturbing reality behind Wayward Pines.

Blending mystery, horror, and dystopian science fiction, the book explores what it costs to live with secrets and how far a community will go to preserve an illusion of safety. Behind the picture-perfect facade lies constant surveillance, an electrified perimeter, and a truth that could shatter every resident's sense of the world.

Fast-paced and full of reversals, Wayward tightens the trilogy's central conspiracy and pushes Ethan toward an impossible choice. Fans of Crouch's Dark Matter and Recursion will recognize his signature high-concept suspense.
