Synopsis

Celeste is the youngest daughter of the siren queen. She wants a place among the Chorus, the sirens' elite warriors, more than she wants her assigned life as a royal figurehead. When she finds Prince Raiden Sharp's ship wrecked in her kingdom's waters, she breaks the oldest siren law and pulls him from the sea, even though his father's fleet has killed sirens for years.

The queen spares Celeste on one condition. She must call on Song, an old siren magic, to walk on land as a human, join Raiden's crew, and kill him before his father can move against her people again. Celeste agrees. She takes her place among his pirates as someone he has no reason to trust.

Living aboard his ship complicates the plan she arrived with. Raiden is not the man his father's war made her expect. The closeness she builds with him and his crew keeps working against the vow that put her there. The waters between the two kingdoms turn more dangerous, and Celeste has to weigh her people's cause against a man she was sent there to kill.

Voice of the Ocean is a young adult fantasy romance built on Little Mermaid mythology, paced fast around a forbidden, slow-burn romance between a siren and the prince she was ordered to end. It closes on a cliffhanger, first in a series with no sequel yet announced.
