The books references / recommendations and public schools efforts in education was the reason I enjoyed this book. Other than that, nothing was explored from the potential and main themes of the book. And that was a bummer. It felt like there was no plot.
I don't even know who our protagonist really is as a main character, nor her background. Everything was just a glimpse with little or no mention of them at all. I couldn't tell if it was YA or Middle grade.
The writing was really good, in verse, and flowed so well. Easy and quick read. For fans of Acevedo works, you'd love this
