Synopsis

Vinland Saga, Book One is the English-language hardcover omnibus edition (Kodansha Comics) of Makoto Yukimura's award-winning historical manga, whose original Japanese serialization began in 2005. Set in the Viking age around the turn of the eleventh century, it follows Thorfinn, a boy raised among the mercenaries who murdered his father, driven by vengeance against their captain Askeladd.

Grounded in real medieval history and the North Sea empire of Scandinavia and England, Vinland Saga is celebrated for its cinematic action, moral depth, and gradual turn from a revenge tale toward a meditation on peace. This deluxe collected edition is an ideal entry point to the series.
