Synopsis

The fifth book follows Ronan Astor, the horsemen's arrogant playboy dubbed the "vicious prince," and Teal Van Doren. The conflict is set in motion when Teal steals a marriage contract, an act that puts her squarely in Ronan's path and triggers his pursuit of revenge. Teal, however, is far from a passive target, harboring her own destructive intentions and casting herself as the place where princes go to die. Their dynamic is built on antagonism, manipulation, and a charged push-and-pull rather than easy attraction, playing out within the same Royal Elite social world and friend group as the rest of the series. While a marriage contract is central to the plot, it functions as the spark for their feud rather than a conventional arranged marriage. Reportedly readable on its own, it nonetheless rewards familiarity with the surrounding cast and continues the series' dark, combative tone.
