Synopsis

"Verletzlichkeit macht stark" is the German edition of Brené Brown's "Daring Greatly", the book that grew out of her viral TED talk on vulnerability. Drawing on more than a decade of shame and vulnerability research, Brown argues that the willingness to be seen — in relationships, at work, as a parent — rather than hiding behind perfectionism or emotional armor, is where love, belonging, and creativity actually take root.

The book walks through how shame operates differently for men and women, how "scarcity culture" drives people to numb vulnerability instead of engaging with it, and how leaders, parents, and partners can build what Brown calls "wholehearted" relationships by tolerating discomfort instead of avoiding it. It combines research summaries with case studies and Brown's own experience as a shame researcher who had to apply her own findings to her life.

The German translation is by Margarethe Randow-Tesch, published by Kailash Verlag.
