Revisiting Cumbria with another adventure of Washington Poe. That intro before chapter 1 was so intriguingly done, a great appetizer!
I love how the first chapter started and goes backward to unravel the crime-- thrilling and suspenseful. Even with its prolonged development, I still find it compelling and nerve-racking (probably much more 'appetizing' that the first book).
The characters were my favorite-- from Poe to Tilly (love this girl so much!) and how I was having a love-hate with Rigg (glad he helped Poe at last!) and that Wardle dude getting on my nerves, also Keaton and it shocked me upon finding out about his accomplice, I-was-perplexed.
Love how the author structured his plot that he includes such twisty ending to each chapters making me sitting on the edge everytime of wanting to know what's next. A brilliant crime thriller, great ending and perspective-- from the blood/DNA talk to truffles to bunkers. I also realised that I have a connection with Poe; we both have read Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four :'))
I am having a starstruck with Poe after reading this more than after reading The Puppet Show. A recommendation for crime lovers, go grab this Poe series, you won't regret it!
ps: I hope Poe keeps his promise to Tilly. Eat the fruits, Poe!
