Venusia (Semiotext(e) / Native Agents)
Synopsis
In the twenty-third century, Earth is gone, and humanity survives on Venusia, an experimental off-world colony. Under the Princeps Crittendon regime, citizens live in an 'enlightened totalitarianism' maintained by industrialized narcotics, holographic entertainment, and memory control. When a mild-mannered junk dealer named Rogers Collectibles discovers a book about early Venusian history, the colony's carefully constructed reality begins to unravel. Rogers, along with his Reality-V girlfriend, a neuroscop operator, a midget friend, and a sentient plant, embarks on a mission to reshape spacetime and redefine the human condition.
