Vanilla Bean Vengeance

Vanilla Bean Vengeance opens Agatha Frost's Claire's Candles Cozy Mystery series. Claire Harris makes candles at the factory in her home village of Northash and dreams of opening a shop of her own. That plan is upended when the factory's owner is pushed to her death, and Claire, who was on the premises, finds herself close to a killing nobody wants examined too carefully.

With her retired-detective father and a small circle of friends, Claire works through the village's cover-ups and old grudges toward an answer, while the future of the factory and her own livelihood hangs on it.

It is a light British village cozy with a candle-making hook, mild peril, no gore or profanity, and a self-contained solution, and it sets up the recurring Northash cast the later books build on.
