Until We Shatter

Cemmy is a "hue" — the child of a mortal and a Shade — an outcast hunted by the Church for wielding magic at all and by the Council of Shades for not having enough of it. She steals to survive and to care for her ailing mother, until the rogue Shade Sarivan offers her protection in exchange for one job: breaking into the Governor's mansion.

That heist spirals into something far bigger — stealing a relic the Church has hidden inside a lethal realm of shadow — and forces Cemmy into an uneasy partnership with the dangerous, secretive Chase and a crew of thieves as skilled as they are broken.
