Unsere Zukunft flirrt am Horizont

Unsere Zukunft flirrt am Horizont
Synopsis
"Unsere Zukunft flirrt am Horizont" follows three teenagers, Simon, Lia, and Marcin, who are ordered to complete social service hours at the same facility after each has made a serious mistake in their past. Thrown together with little in common on the surface, they gradually learn that none of their stories are as simple as they first appeared.
Over the following months, the three carry considerable emotional baggage but slowly build trust, and what starts as forced proximity develops into real friendship and, for some of them, first love. Adriana Popescu writes about difficult topics — guilt, family pressure, and starting over — in a grounded, unsentimental way, avoiding easy resolutions or melodrama.
Popescu, born in Munich, worked as a screenwriter and studied literature before turning to writing YA novels full-time; this book is characteristic of her focus on authentic, emotionally honest coming-of-age stories.
