Under three flags

In a quiet Vermont valley, a young couple's elopement night turns tragic with a murder and bank robbery, sending the groom to prison and later making him a fugitive. Years later, as war with Spain looms, a quick-witted reporter and a relentless detective pursue the cold case from rural America to the insurgent camps of Cuba and the Philippines. They uncover a vast conspiracy involving stolen funds, false identities, and international intrigue, all woven into a long plot of betrayal and revenge under three flags.
