Synopsis

Nino Falcone is the Camorra's most feared enforcer and brother to its boss. He has built his reputation on feeling nothing at all. When his brother orders a marriage to hold a fragile truce together, Nino agrees without a fight. His bride is Kiara Vitiello, cousin to the head of New York's Famiglia, sent to Las Vegas after her father's betrayal left her family's name in question.

Kiara carries wounds from her past that nobody in her new household can see. A husband who feels nothing might be easier to live with than one who asks why. Twisted Emotions, the second novel in Cora Reilly's Camorra Chronicles, is an arranged marriage story set inside two rival crime families. The wedding itself is the treaty, and neither party had a say in it.

The book moves slowly by design. It follows Nino and Kiara as they learn to read each other in small moments: a hand not pulled away, a question left unasked. Trust arrives in pieces. The mafia setting still supplies real danger, and the story stays dark throughout, touching on family cruelty and inherited violence without softening either.

It follows Twisted Loyalties as the second book in the series. It reads first as a romance between two damaged people, second as a crime novel.
