This novel reimagines the peace efforts of historical figures like Frederick Douglass and Senator George Mitchell, alongside the daring flight of World War I airmen, through the eyes of four generations of women. Spanning 150 years and two continents, the story connects these iconic crossings with the personal experiences of a matriarchal clan, beginning with an Irish housemaid in 1845 and culminating in the present day.
