Well, it took me 4 months to open this book again after leaving it on pause. And the only thing why I did it it’s because I hate having incomplete series and I love the characters.
It started really good,
Spoiler
even though I always feel like getting a character back from the dead it’s cheating I didn’t want the bonded group to be incomplete and I liked the new dynamics with Nox but then the book got to the repetitive rhythm that seems to exist in every installment of the series and this is when I decided to take the 4 months break.
I really like the characters, they are the only reason why I keep reading and I definitely want to know how the story ends but it’s getting harder and harder to pick up the book when I know the same scenes keep repeating with no plot development and that there’s another book left.
The villains no longer feel like threats when Oli and her bonds are the strongest, and in the ending of the last book something mysterious that caused a lot of pain killed Nox and no one seems to care about what it was, no one even mentioned it or tried to figure it out. At least a new villain is introduced (I guess it’s the mysterious thing) but at this point I don’t care.
I rushed through the second half of the book because it was the same, the last 20% was the most interesting part but everything else was boring. Please stop making me read about showers, sleepovers, naps, training and seafood. I already know it happens, let’s just skip it.
