Synopsis

In an alternate version of Tokyo where ghouls — beings who look human but can only survive by consuming human flesh — coexist with people, college student Ken Kaneki is transformed into a half-ghoul after a near-fatal encounter. Sui Ishida is a Japanese manga artist born in Fukuoka Prefecture. He is best known for the dark fantasy series Tokyo Ghoul, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump from 2011 to 2014, and its sequel Tokyo Ghoul:re (2014 to 2018). The English edition of Tokyo Ghoul reached the New York Times bestseller list in 2015. His later series Choujin X began serialization in 2021.
