Three American siblings in Venice receive magical gifts that upend their reality, linking them to a centuries-old mystery. Jared, Shireen, and Miranda discover their powers are tied to an Arabian Nights book and animals that move in and out of paintings. Their adventure intertwines with another trio from the past, Rashid, Maria, and Francesca, who face child slavery. The modern children must find a way to save those from the past, as danger spans across centuries.
