Libraries were full of ideas—perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons.

This is my second time reading Throne of Glass and I have a greater appreciation for it this time around. Knowing the back stories of the character you can see their growth in so much more clarity. The little tid bits of information hinting at Celeana's past and what pushed her towards the life she was thrust into helps to really make this a timeless read which you can pick up and read again regardless of how many times you have read it. You continue to pick up on new things and new ideas regarding the character development.

Sarah J. Maas has done a great job at creating a world full of adventure, magic and mystery. The characters are fascinating to follow, even the ones predisposed to evil. Honestly cannot wait to read the rest of the series for a second time and pick up on even more.

I've just finished queen of shadows and had to come back to write a review for everyone who might be considering reading this book.

I thought this book was amazing, not perfect, but so good. And it just the first.

The characters, that seem a little bit shallow, go through a major development. Don't let that discourage you.

Oh, and the plot. You might think you're in for something simple. You've got no idea. It only gets more intricate.

So, I don't usually even try write reviews (and I don't believe this counts as one) but it's 3 am and it felt like my duty to recommend this book to anyone who will listen to me.

This was a hell of a surprise recommended by a close friend (anyone else and I would have probably kept ignoring recommendations to read it), despite my initial hesitations due to comparisons to other fantasy series such as Fourth Wing (which I liked, but not my usual cup of tea). However, diving into the world of Celaena Sardothien proved to be an exhilarating journey. I finished the book in less than 24 hours, a testament to its inability to be put down.

While it may not reach the epic scale of Brandon Sanderson or the thrilling pace of Pierce Brown (two of my favorite SFF authors), this book captivated me with its compelling storyline and well-crafted characters. Celaena's journey from imprisoned assassin to fierce heroine is both captivating and inspiring, and Maas's skillful character development brings depth to the narrative.

As a fan of memoirs that offer different perspectives, I found this book to be a refreshing exploration of fantasy from a distinct viewpoint. Its fast-paced plot and engaging protagonist kept me glued to the pages, making it a highly enjoyable read that I'd recommend to any fantasy enthusiast.

I'm just doing this because idk how goodreads works and it said if I just removed it from currently reading (without marking it as read) I'd lose my notes. I think in a few months I might attempt this again on kindle. I made it half way so I feel like I can rate it. I didn't like this book so much that I feel like it's put me in a reading slump. I'll try to fix that with comics.
