I truly love the characters. Amma is the most sunshine character I have ever read. Damien was just the perfect grumpy villain and the only human he tolerates is her (obviously).

The story was very unique, a quest-driven plot with lots of detours. I know it’s a trilogy and that the main plot will probably be solved in the third book but I felt like we spend a lot of time in these side-quests that there was very little development for the main one. But I enjoyed the magic-cozy-whimsical world and its characters.

It’s been a while since I read a slow burn, I loved how their relationship develops, it felt natural, but I did struggle in the first half to be fully immersed in the story. The other half was amazing and I’m thrilled it was recommended to me.

Oh and 5 stars on the cover, it’s gorgeous.
