Synopsis

Benny Abbott and Joy Moore are best friends and co-hosts of one of the biggest podcasts in the world, a hit show built on real "against-all-odds" survival stories. Then one morning Benny arrives at Joy's house to record and finds the door open, glass shattered on the floor, and Joy — along with her husband, Xander — gone.

As police begin to treat Benny as their prime suspect, he sets out to find Joy himself, working from the only lead she left behind: the unfinished, previously unseen first draft of her memoir. Alternating between Benny's search in the present and chapters of Joy's own account of their friendship, the novel unravels the secrets a beloved public partnership was built on — and finally answers the question their listeners have always asked: were Benny and Joy ever more than friends?

Tiffany Crum's debut novel is a New York Times bestseller, an Amazon Best Book of the Year, a Book of the Month pick, and a BBC Radio 2 Book Club selection.
