Synopsis

Judd Foxman's life implodes in the space of a few weeks: he walks in on his wife in bed with his boss, and then his father dies. The elder Foxman's last request is that his fractured, mostly irreligious family sit shiva together—seven days confined under one roof, in the childhood home none of them can wait to leave.

What follows is a week of forced proximity with his sharp-tongued mother and three grown siblings, each carrying their own wreckage of marriages, careers, and grudges. Old wounds reopen, secrets surface, ex-flames reappear, and Judd is forced to reckon with his grief, his failed marriage, and a bombshell that will change everything.

Warm, raunchy, and laugh-out-loud funny beneath its sadness, Jonathan Tropper's This Is Where I Leave You is a big-hearted comedy of family dysfunction about the people who drive us crazy and the ones we can't help loving anyway.
