This book is breathtaking. I love it. The prose to discuss longing and love will make a permanent mark on my mind.

mein herz schlägt azuro

This book will haunt me forever. I could reread a thousand times and keep picking up details I hadn't seen before. I could (and probably will, when I stop crying) write a million papers on why the writing is incredible.

Quite cool seeing love blossom through letters.

But wow, it was confusing. The poetic prose was cool at first and there’s some really beautiful quotes in this but it was so amped up that half the time I felt like my brain was lagging behind. I genuinely started to think I was dumb because I didn’t fully understand what was going on for most of it.

It’s super fast paced and there is barely any world building, and yes I get that it’s more about the relationship than the mechanics of the world, but I feel like I would’ve enjoyed it more if some bits were fleshed out and we got more detail on how these god damn letters were made. That said, the small glimpses we do get of the world are actually really cool.

they lost me in the first half and only partially redeemed themselves in the second half ... on my summer tbr and this is the first one off the list so at least there's that
