Many other reviews on here call out the typical issues - terrible character development, poor writing - but the thing that irritated me the most was all the stuff that was so obvious to me and ignored the by the author.
How and why is Naomi immediately settling down in a place she’s never even heard of until her sister? Surely Way is not so ingrained she couldn’t take her somewhere else?
Why do her parents stay so long? Do they not have a life wherever they live?
Why does Stef stay too? None of these people are from Knockemout! WHY ARE THEY JUST GIVING UP THEIR LIVES BECAUSE NAOMI NEEDS TO KEEP HER NIECE?
And on that note, who can make that call that quickly about a kid they don’t even know?
None of the unspoken stuff makes any sense, and it’s like the author figured if she didn’t mention or explain any of it no one would notice. Irritating.
