this was a cute reading and I'm not going to lie, I was very invested in this premise because I knew it was going to be a dramatic one! the main character falls for the brother of her ex fiancé? and he is into her as well??? and they both have to work together to achieve a common goal, thus having to spend time together and resisting their evident attraction for each other?? that's a recipe for disaster.
I enjoyed the characters a lot, and I absolutely adored the tiny bits of Brazilian culture throughout the book as well as the Portuguese; listening to this audiobook was such a fun experience!
I was also very much pleased by the portrayal of relationships as someone's safe place/space. I liked how the author explored the idea of a relationship being a person's comfort place, where they can be themselves without fear of being judged and without feeling the need to change who they are in order to fit. I thought it was a great representation of healthy and durable relationships, as well as something that people shouldn't be afraid of looking for.
I'd definitely recommend this book! (plus, the smut was AMAZING!)
