Synopsis

Christina MacKinnon is secretly relieved to be a widow — and desperate to distance herself from her late husband's clan. But as heir to his estate, which she needs to support her siblings, she must first fend off the advances and threats of the man next in line to inherit. Freshly returned from war, Lachlan Kincaid seeks justice against the MacKinnons for betraying his family and costing him his own inheritance. When he discovers Christina has inherited the estate, he sees an opportunity — but as their lives intersect, both realize their separate goals may only be achievable together, on a path that demands real danger and real sacrifice. A clean Highland romance set in West Inverness-shire, Scotland, 1762 — book one of Martha Keyes's Tales from the Highlands series.
